1. Important Customer Information

1a. These Terms and Conditions apply to all contracts for supply and fitting entered into with Floors-2u, whether domestic or commercial. By placing an order with us — even where only a deposit is paid — you are entering into a legally binding contract.

1b. Please check all details of your order carefully, including product, measurements, and installation requirements. Any queries should be raised immediately with a Floors-2u representative. Revisions to your order may incur additional costs.

1c. Your rights as a consumer are protected under UK law. If you believe we have not met our legal obligations, please contact us directly. Advice on your rights is also available from Citizens Advice Consumer Service (0808 223 1133 / www.citizensadvice.org.uk).

2. Company Overview

2a. Floors-2u is a family-run flooring business with over 40 years’ experience.

2b. We specialise in the supply and professional installation of:

  • Carpet
  • Laminate
  • Vinyl
  • Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)
  • Engineered & Real Wood Flooring

2c. All installations are carried out exclusively by our employed, trained team of fitters. We do not subcontract to independent third-party fitters.

3. Estimates, Pricing & Orders

  • 3a. All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
  • 3b. Orders may be subject to revision following a site visit. If the final price is lower than the estimate, your contract will reflect the lower price. If the final price is more than 15% higher, you may cancel your order and receive a refund of any monies paid (provided we have not already ordered materials or begun works).
  •  3c. You are responsible for providing accurate measurements unless a Floors-2u representative has carried out a survey.

4. Deposits, Payments & Ownership

  •  4a. For supply & fitting orders, a 70% deposit is required before materials are ordered and an installation date is confirmed. The remaining 30% balance must be paid upon completion of the fitting. Any snagging or issues must be reported directly to the fitter on the day of installation.
  • 4b. For supply-only orders, payment must be made in full.
  • 4c. Deposits can be paid by cash, card in-store, or bank transfer. Please note, we do not accept card payments over the phone unless the card has been used with us previously.
  • 4d. All materials remain the property of Floors-2u until payment has been received in full.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

  • 5a. Once an order is placed, cancellation is not normally accepted unless Floors-2u is in breach of contract.
  • 5b. Where materials have been ordered specifically for your project, cancellation may result in loss of deposit and/or charges to cover costs incurred.
  • 5c. For purchases made online or “off-premises” (e.g. at your home without an in-store visit), a 14-day cooling-off period applies. If you request work to start before this period ends, you will be liable for costs incurred up to the point of cancellation. If installation is completed within this time, you waive your right to cancel.
  • 5d. Refunds, where applicable, will be made to the original payer and by the original payment method.

6. Delivery, Storage & Installation

  • 6a. We aim to deliver and install as smoothly as possible. This includes delivery of your order, limited movement of emptied furniture, removal of off-cuts, and vacuuming.
  • 6b. We do not normally uplift or dispose of old flooring unless agreed in advance.
  • 6c. Customers must ensure areas are clear, accessible, and safe for our team to work. Large/heavy items (e.g. pianos, white goods) must be removed prior to installation.
  • 6d. Storage of Materials: Flooring materials can be stored for up to 8 weeks from the order date free of charge. Storage beyond this period may incur additional fees, which will vary depending on the product type and size.
  • 6e. Fitter Absence: In the event of a fitter’s absence due to illness or emergency, Floors-2u will make every effort to notify the customer as soon as possible. Our team will provide alternative options (such as rescheduling, assigning a different fitter, or other suitable arrangements) to minimise disruption.
  • 6f. Aborted Calls: If our fitters attend a property and are unable to carry out the work because the customer is not ready or access is unavailable, an aborted call-out charge of £80–£300 may apply. Exceptions may be made if the customer provides evidence of illness or another valid reason for the delay.

7. Subfloor Preparation

  • 7a. A smooth, clean, dry, and level subfloor is essential. Our estimator may not be able to identify hidden issues where existing flooring and subfloor is in place at survey stage.
  • 7b. It is the customer’s responsibility to inform Floors-2u of any existing conditions that could affect the subfloor or the installation of new flooring.
  • 7c. If remedial work (e.g. screeding, ply-boarding, damp-proofing) is required, this will be charged in addition to your order.
  • 7d. If you decline necessary subfloor works, our fitters may be unable to complete the installation, and your order may be supplied on a supply-only basis.
  • 7e. Subfloor Conditions: Customers must inform Floors-2u of any known issues with the subfloor prior to installation, including red ash, damp or moisture, pre-existing leaks, older or damaged floorboards, or poor ventilation beneath the flooring. Full disclosure during the site survey ensures that the installation can proceed safely and correctly.

8. Product Information & Care

  • 8a. Samples provide a general indication of colour and pattern but may vary when viewed across a larger area. Batch variations are normal.
  • 8b. Carpet may show shading, pile reversal, or flattening due to usage. These are not faults.
  • 8c. Carpet Pole Marks may display temporary lines or impressions from storage on poles; these are normal and will naturally settle with regular use and vacuuming.
  • 8d. All carpets benefit from good quality underlay. Re-using old underlay may reduce performance.
  • 8e. Laminate, LVT, and engineered wood may vary in pattern and colour due to natural effects. These products may be sensitive to moisture and must be maintained in accordance with manufacturer care instructions.
  • 8f. For full guidance, please refer to our Floor Care Guide provided on request.

9. Warranties & Guarantees

  • 9a. Floors-2u guarantees its fitting workmanship for 12 months.
  • 9b. Manufacturer product guarantees apply in addition. These cover wear-through but not appearance, scratches, stains, or neglect.
  • 9c. Customers must register branded products directly with the manufacturer to activate any applicable warranty. Floors-2u’s own-brand products are automatically registered at the point of purchase in-store. All registrations should be completed within 28 days.
  • 9d. Guarantees are void if products are damaged by misuse, improper cleaning, water, fire, or other environmental factors.

10. Liability

  • 10a. Floors-2u shall not be liable for:
    • Minor cosmetic damage to décor (e.g. scuffs to fresh paint/wallpaper) during fitting.
    • Damage caused by customer neglect, misuse, or failure to follow care guidance.
    • Subfloor issues not visible at the time of survey.
  • 10b. Floors-2u cannot be held responsible for accidental damage to hidden services (such as electrical wires, water pipes, or gas pipes) that are not installed to, or do not comply with, current British Standards. Customers are responsible for making Floors-2u aware of any such services prior to installation.
  • 10c. Floors-2u complies with the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977.

11. Commercial Projects

  • 11a. For large commercial contracts, bespoke terms may be agreed separately.
  • 11b. Floors-2u operates in compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • 11c. Risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) can be provided on request.
  • 11d. Our team is fully insured and DBS-checked where required (e.g. schools, childcare facilities).

12. Promotions & Price Matching

  • 12a. From time to time, promotional offers may apply. These will have their own terms and may exclude certain products or services.
  • 12b. Floors-2u does not guarantee price matching with competitors.

13. Website Use & Newsletter

  • 13a. Our Website is provided “as is” without warranty of accuracy, functionality, or availability.
  • 13b. By signing up to our newsletter, you consent to receive marketing communications, which you may opt out of at any time.
  • 13c. We do not sell or share customer data with third parties except as required by law.

14. Additional Services: Furniture Moving

  • 14a. Where requested, Floors2u can provide assistance with moving furniture to facilitate the flooring installation; this service is optional and may incur an additional charge to cover extra labour.
  • 14b. This service is provided for the convenience of the customer only.
  • 14c. Floors2u is not responsible for any damage or loss to furniture, flooring, or property during the moving process.
  • 14d. For insurance and safety reasons, Floors2u cannot move furniture containing plumbed-in water or gas.
  • 14e. Floors2u reserves the right, at its discretion, to assign additional staff to assist with furniture moving.
  • 14f. This service does not form part of the standard flooring installation and does not cover insurance for items moved.
  • 14g. By requesting this service, customers acknowledge that they understand the scope and limitations as outlined above.

15. Severance & Waiver

  • 15a. If any part of these Terms is held invalid, the rest will remain enforceable.
  • 15b. Failure by Floors-2u to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of such rights.

16. Governing Law

  • 16a. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England & Wales.
  • 16b. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
